Elevate Phoenix recently hosted its 8th Annual Ann Meyers Drysdale ELEVATOR IN EDUCATION AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON, and by all accounts, it was another resounding success! This signature event, not only celebrated the incredible achievements of Valley educators but also shone a spotlight on the vital importance of scholarships, mentorships, and educational programs for the Valley’s urban youth.
The impressive list of sponsors underscored the community’s commitment to Elevate Phoenix’s mission. As of April 2025, an astounding over $385,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 433 Elevate Phoenix Alumni – a testament to the power of collective giving and the tangible difference it makes in enabling these young individuals to pursue their post-secondary dreams.

Her remarkable achievements – from being the first four-time All-American women’s basketball player to breaking barriers as the first woman to sign an NBA contract and earning dual Hall of Fame honors – highlight the heights attainable through dedication and perseverance.
Beyond her athletic prowess, Annie’s deep connection to Elevate Phoenix shines brightly. As VP of the Phoenix Mercury/Suns and a respected color commentator, she remains deeply engaged with the local community.
For the students of Elevate Phoenix, Annie is more than a legend; she is a friend and a founding Board member who passionately believes in the organization’s mission of fostering long-term, life-changing relationships. Alongside fellow early investor PGA Tour Pro Tom Lehman, Annie’s belief in the power of mentorship and educational support has been instrumental in shaping the lives of countless urban youth.
