As June gracefully bows out and July steps into the spotlight, there’s an undeniable buzz of accomplishment and continued dedication here at Elevate Phoenix. We’re not just closing a chapter; we’re turning a page with renewed energy, celebrating significant milestones and propelling our incredible young leaders forward.
This past month has been a whirlwind of activity and connection. We’ve proudly finalized all our elementary and middle school programs, ensuring that even our youngest participants had enriching experiences. And as the Arizona heat ramps up, so does our commitment to keeping spirits high and engagement constant. We’re finding innovative and fun ways for our students to stay cool, all while fostering invaluable connections with their Teacher-Mentors.
A standout achievement this June has been the triumphant completion of our newest high school graduates’ first summer college bridge R.I.S.E. program. It’s with immense pride that we announce they’ve all earned 3 college credits—a phenomenal head start on their higher education journeys! This achievement isn’t merely academic; it’s a testament to their dedication, the unwavering support of their Teacher-Mentors, and the intentional, daily investment poured into their growth.
The Power of 24/7 Mentorship
At the heart of Elevate Phoenix is our robust mentorship program, built on the foundation of long-term, life-changing relationships. Unlike traditional programs, our full-time, salaried Teacher-Mentors are available to students 24/7/365. This constant availability ensures that students have a trusted guide whenever they need it, whether for academic help, navigating personal challenges, or simply needing an encouraging word. This holistic approach addresses every facet of a student’s development.
Our mentorship extends far beyond just homework help. We focus on academic improvement through tutoring and literacy support, but also on crucial life skills and character development. Through consistent interaction, mentors instill values like vision, courage, respect, and a strong work ethic. Students develop confidence and resilience, learning to make positive choices and overcome obstacles. This continuous presence fosters significant personal growth, guiding them toward becoming well-rounded individuals.
Building Leaders and Shaping Futures
Elevate Phoenix is dedicated to ensuring post-secondary success for our students. Mentors work closely with high schoolers to prepare them for graduation and develop comprehensive plans for college or vocational training. The results speak for themselves: Elevate Phoenix boasts an impressive 98% high school graduation rate, with a significant percentage of our graduates moving on to higher education.
Beyond direct mentorship, we also champion leadership development through our peer mentoring program. High school students are trained to become mentors themselves, providing positive role models for younger students while honing their own leadership abilities and making a tangible impact on their community.
